Forward

Almost a year after returning from Turkey, it’s easy to want to reminisce on the things that have taken place. During the course of this past year, I lived on two continents, saw 3 new countries, traveled to 8 states, got a new job with an organization working in the ministry that my heart beats for, and begin a new position within that ministry that fits my skills and strengths like an absolute glove!

But in this same light, I am compelled in a fierce way, that looking back is for revelation and looking forward is for claiming.

Revelation
When I look back at the things I have done and the places I have come from, I am more convinced than ever before of the incredible grace of God. I have a new understanding and conviction of His constant and faithful mercy, especially from my new perspective working with precious women who have experienced more trauma than I could ever imagine, and who are overcoming it with such grace, dignity and an overwhelming amount of strength.

Forward
It is in this newfound understanding that we can then turn to look forward. This revelation casts a new spotlight on the things ahead and prompts the question, “What will you do with it?”

John 15:16 says “You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.”

This grace, this being chosen and redeemed, has never been for the sake of simply “being”, but for purpose, destiny, and action. Anything less is a misuse of that grace.

The sacrifice that Jesus made was not just beautiful, it was powerful, and unless we understand this, we will constantly be gripped by fear, guilt, and shame, destined to live out our lives in hiding; convinced that we could never be good enough, brave enough, or free enough to step beyond our front doors.

Unless we understand this, we will never fully grasp the destiny and calling God has placed on our lives.

So, what will you do with this newfound freedom?

How will you redefine your world?

Truly, the world is waiting for you to do it.
